“Here I am, stuck in the middle with you” a line from a 1973 song by Stealers Wheel comes to mind when we think about the last week of trading on the C market.

100-110 March just seems to be stuck with trade based buying at the lows, origin-based selling at the highs, and jobbers and traders just happy to play in between. As the market continues it’s sideways action, trade in coffee mostly in future delivery positions as discounts to current offer levels. Some of the reports have been really amazing.

Starbucks reported selling more coffee at their cafes last week, and Howard Schultz announced he might want to be President. “A venti latte in every cup” can that replace “a chicken in every pot”? I guess we’ll see?

Colombia EP and PNG Sigri AA and B are arrived but not yet stipped into Continental. We have ½ a box of FTO Sumtra Mandheling Gr1 arrving on Feb 1st. Speaking of Mandheling we have one in Continental right now and one more just arrived waiting to be stripped. We’ve just given shipping instructions for a combined box of SHG Honduras Marcala and FTO Marcala.
